Munster celebrate with the URC trophy following their final victory over the DHL Stormers in Cape Town.
On Saturday, February 3 at 5 p.m., Munster Crusaders Rugby will play a world-first "Clash of the Champions" match that promises to make history in 2024.
Last Saturday in Waikato, the New Zealand team won their eighth straight Super Rugby Pacific Championship, defeating the Chiefs 25–20 to keep the trophy.
With 14 titles under their belt, they are the most successful team in the competition's history and are well-known throughout the globe for their track record of brilliance and achievement.
It will be the first-ever meeting between the defending URC and Super Rugby champions after Munster's recent victory in the BKT United Rugby Championship in Cape Town.
As the new Crusaders manager starting in 2024, Rob Penney, a former head coach of Munster, has already been announced. As part of their preseason campaign, the team will go abroad for the first time to play Bristol Bears and Munster.
Ian Flanagan, CEO of Munster Rugby, said: "We are excited to have the Super Rugby champions play a historic match against the Crusaders here in Munster.
Our team has a long and illustrious history of hosting visiting teams, so I'm sure that the game in February of next year will be a memorable event for everyone.

Since Australian and New Zealand clubs have been working on the World Club tournament for years, it was impossible to pass up the chance for Super teams to face their counterparts in the northern hemisphere.
